Goal:For this project I was tasked with rebranding Temaki, a sushi restaurant on the campus of Northern Michigan University.
Problem: The old branding for Temaki was dated and the use of the Japanese character was a bit appropriative. The symbol meant “tea” but Temaki no longer sold tea so it made no sense.
Solution: We went through a few variations which you can see below. For the final logo and identity, we went with a bamboo motif that feels fresh, playful, but strong and recognizable as a logo mark. Simple but effective.
